Rebecca Goodwin & Grover Allgood



On April 12, 2008, Rebecca Goodwin and Grover Allgood were united in holy matrimony at the First Baptist Church in Montgomery at 5:30 p.m. The happy couple was surrounded by family and friends as they exchanged their vows and joined in marriage. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, and she is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Goodwin of Montgomery. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grover Allgood of McShan, Ala. Elizabeth Ferrell Vaughn of Montgomery, a childhood friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Martha Alicia Pool of Clermont, Fla., cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Patricia Karr of Birmingham; Katie Lane Mann of Atlanta; Katherine Lucile Waller of Montgomery; Jennifer Thomas Kasey of Nashville, Tenn.; Elizabeth Tyler Allgood of Auburn; and Margaret Wadsworth Goodwin of Woodbury, Ga. Adeline Grace Vaughn of Montgomery, the matron of honor’s daughter, and Camryn Marie Crowell of Alexander City served as flowergirls. Richard Grover Allgood, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were John Hunter Allgood of Tuscaloosa; Donald Drury Goodwin of Woodbury, Ga.; Taylor Copeland Goodwin of Auburn; Danny Ashley Jernigan Jr. of Enterprise, Ala.; Charles Webb Holmes of Folsom, Ala.; William Edward Searcy of Enterprise, Ala.; and Andrew Caleb Hamlin of Carrolton, Ala. Guests celebrated with the newlyweds at a reception at the Blount Conservatory. All were entertained by a cocktail hour outside in the garden complete with delicious hors d’oeuvres and pink cocktails. The talents of photographer Greg Johnson, videographer Joe Bryan, caterer Tammy Griffin, wedding cake creator Ivey Davis and wedding planner Mary Sanders of Mary Me combined to make a perfect evening the bride and groom won’t soon forget.


Jennifer Coggins& Matthew Brown



Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church on May 31, 2008 was the setting for the wedding of Jennifer Gail Coggins and Matthew Robert Brown. The ceremony took place at 4 o’clock with Dr. John Ed Mathison performing the rites. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hayward Coggins of Montgomery. The groom’s parents are Mrs. Kimberly H. Brown and Mr. Robert Charles Brown, both of Troy. The bride, escorted by her father, walked down the main aisle lined with beautiful wrought iron candelabras, which the florist, Melissa Kendall, had filled with roses in glowing shades of pink and green. The matron of honor was the sister of the bride, April Coggins Moore of Birmingham, while the maid of honor was Mary Lucille Sims of Montgomery. Bridesmaids were Shelby Kathleen Mainor, Jerin Offord Howard, Mary Diermayer Causey, Ashey May McGough and Elizabeth Ashley Barranco, all of Montgomery, Rebekah Warren Williams of Birmingham, Amy Miller Robertson of Andalusia, and Linsey Gilmore Sanders and Alecia Brooke Farmer, both of Troy. Emily Claire Bryan was the flower girl. The best men were Robert Charles Brown, the father of the groom and Micah Charles Brown, brother of the groom, both of Troy. Groomsmen were Phillip Kurt Henderson, Christopher Brett Freeman, Brian Scott Maddox, John Bradford Money and Vimal Pravin Patel, all of Troy; David William Taylor of Birmingham; Trey Mainor and James Clinton Whitaker both of Montgomery; and Wesley Adam Robertson of Andalusia. The ringbearer was Landon Moore, nephew of the bride. Following the ceremony, the happy couple left in grand style in a stunning 1957 convertible, a gift from the groom’s father. At the reception, the band Accent provided musical entertainment. Guests enjoyed a lavish buffet catered by Incredible Edibles. After a honeymoon to St. Lucia the couple now resides in Troy, Ala.


LaQuan Thomas& Keith Ellis



LaQuan T. Thomas and Keith T. Ellis were united in marriage on May 3, 2008 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Whitehall, Ala. The father of the groom, Reverend Walter Ellis, and Reverend L. L. Brown Sr. officiated. The sanctuary was adorned with floral embellishments. As the bride made her way down the aisle, she was serenaded by the groom singing his own rendition of the Jamie Foxx song entitled “Heaven.” LaQuan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Thomas. The groom’s parents are Rev. and Mrs. Walter Ellis. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin gown accented with Swarovski crystals with a train enhanced by a godet also adorned with crystals. The matron of honor was Dr. Tashawna Stokes of Los Angeles, Calif. LaKeshia Thomas, of Montgomery, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Carr of San Antonio, Texas; Granita Griffin, Jennifer Harris, Jemecia Ross, all of Montgomery; Kimberly Lucas and Stacy Worthy both of Atlanta; and Kizzy Simmons of Millbrook. There were two flowergirls, Tatiasha Webster of Huntsville, cousin of the bride, and Lillian Carr of San Antonio, Texas, niece of the groom. The groom’s two brothers, Dwayne Ellis of Montgomery and Eric Ellis of Wetumpka, were best men. Groomsmen were Tellis Carr of San Antonio, Texas; Corey Ellis, Timothy Ellis, Roy Hightower, Cedric Webb, and the ringbearer, Jaylen Ellis, all of Montgomery; Brian Johnson and the broom bearer, Joseph Augustus Olidge, who is a cousin of the bride, both of Atlanta. Following the wedding ceremony there was a spectacular reception at the Renaissance Hotel. This was the first reception after the hotel’s opening, and the staff outdid themselves in elegance and style, creating among other things an ice sculpture of the newlyweds’ initials. The couple spent their honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Lyndsey Collier& John Grider



When Lyndsey Marie Collier and John William Grider exchanged vows on Dec. 20, they gave and received the best Christmas present ever, each other. The 4 p.m. wedding ceremony took place at First Baptist Church in Montgomery with the Rev. Jay Wolf officiating. The bride is the daughter of Roger Collier of Wetumpka and Jan Collier of Montgomery. Lyndsey was given in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Gerald Grider and the late Joan Grider of Pike Road. During the ceremony, a memorial candle was lit in honor of the groom’s mother. The bride was attended by her sister Lysley Duncan of Montgomery as her matron of honor and Jessica Cook of Hope Hull, Ala., as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Ashmore of Wetumpka; Carli Best of Pike Road; Bethany Hall of Montgomery; Amanda Collier of Titus, Ala.; Shannon Havranek of Montgomery; Ashley Paige Smith of Wetumpka; and Ashley Calloway of Birmingham. Sarah Elizabeth Atkins of Pike Road was a junior bridesmaid. Father of the groom, Gerald Grider, was the best man. Groomsmen were Walter Grider of Opelika; Phillip Grider of Cumming, Ga.; Pat Atkins of Pike Road; Chad Fountain of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Adam Williford of Montgomery; Adam Causey of Montgomery; Tim Greene of Montgomery; Wilson Collier of Titus, Ala.; and Jason Goodson of Wetumpka. Patrick Atkins Jr. of Pike Road was a junior groomsman, and Riley Duncan of Montgomery, the bride’s nephew, was the bell ringer. Guests were invited to join the happy couple at a reception following the ceremony at 129 Coosa in downtown Montgomery. The band Trotline provided musical entertainment. The couple now resides in Montgomery.

Josie Mitchell& Larry McLemore



Anna Josephine Mitchell and Lawrence Underwood McLemore were married on May 31 at Saint John’s Episcopal Church. The Reverend Robert Wisnewski and The Reverend Evan Garner officiated. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Joseph Mitchell of Montgomery. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Maurice Christopher of Columbus, Ga., and of Mrs. Michael Brady Mitchell Sr., and the late Mr. Mitchell of Ocean Springs, Miss. Parents of the groom are Judge Lucie McLemore and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bear McLemore of Montgomery. He is the grandson of Mrs. Rena Pope Underwood and the late Mr. Kenneth Wilder Underwood Jr., and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Klenton Tranum McLemore, all of Montgomery. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Monique Lhullier gown consisting of a bolero jacket of Alencon lace paired with a full skirt of honey-colored organza and a chapel length veil. Day Christopher Mitchell, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lucie McLemore Amberg and Grace McLemore Jeter, sisters of the groom, Alexandra Porter Broder, Ann Hughston Davis, Hunter Jean Gilpin, Kasdin Elizabeth Miller, Rachel Leigh Saucer and Virginia Anne Thomas. Best man was the groom’s father, Lawrence Bear McLemore. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother, William Joseph Mitchell Jr. and Thomas Elliot Broughton, Robert Walker Garrett, Jeffrey Braswell Harris, Matthew Robert Lewis, David Gregory Rudd, Richard Henry Sforzini III, Jonathan Render Thomas and Charles Kenneth Walden Jr. James McLemore Jeter, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. William Bonner McLemore, cousin of the groom, was crucifer. Robert Holmes McGaughey Jr. was lay reader. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Montgomery Country Club. After a honeymoon in Greece, the couple now resides in Montgomery.

Catherine Parnell& Eric Matthews



Catherine Nicole Parnell and Eric Thomas Matthews were united in holy matrimony on April 26, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Karl Stegall and Dr. Lawson Bryan officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nichols Parnell III of Montgomery. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Matthews of Hampton Cove, Ala. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Monique Lhuillier gown of ivory French lace with Swarovski crystals accenting the overlay of organza and tulle roses. Her full-length veil was silk illusion edged with French Alencon lace. Her bouquet was wrapped in an heirloom lace handkerchief from Brussels where the couple had become engaged nearly a year before. Meredith Lauren Parnell of Atlanta, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jeanie Montiel Parnell of Montgomery; Allison Elaine Matthews and Caroline Thompson Omastiak of Atlanta; Amy Lynn Roach of Dallas, TX; Margaret Hamilton Seale of Memphis, TN; Michelle Maranto Hawkins of Albany, GA; Kate Neal McGowin of Birmingham; and Jennifer Poole Precht of Cary, NC. The groom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Justin Matthew Parnell of Montgomery, brother of the bride, Trevor Lane Ashurst, James Ross Buttermore, Matthew Daniel Terwelp, Scott Michael Warren all of Dallas, Texas; Kyle Stephen Hilterbran of Walker, La.; Ryan Thomas Hilterbran of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Woodson Cary Whitehead of New York. The flower girl was Hayden Elaine Grimsley, cousin of the groom. The ring bearers were Bennet Charles Parnell, nephew of the bride, and Jackson Mark Grimsley, cousin of the groom. Following the wedding ceremony a lovely reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents on Rosemont Drive. After a honeymoon in Antigua, the couple resides in Dallas, Texas.

Ashley Jones& Chris Petrunic



On the 31st of May, Ashley Jones and Dr. Chris Petrunic said their vows in the First United Methodist Church in Prattville with Reverend Douglas Orr officiating. Ashley is the daughter of Dr. Frank and Elaine Jones, while the groom’s parents are Mike Petrunic and Janet Neighbors, all of Prattville. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The reception was held at the groom’s family residence and was catered by Ryan Glass owner of The Camellia Cafe in Daphne, Ala. On arrival, guests were greeted with music by The Penny Shenkel Orchestra from Destin. Later in the evening, Perfect Image from Mobile, Ala. took the stage. Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Julie Jones Seamon of Dothan. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Gordon of Smith Station, Ala.; Caroline Hollowell of Jackson, Miss.; Katheryn Kennedy of Mobile; April Lane of Benton, Ala; Mary Kaye Longshore of Montgomery; Kelli and Elizabeth Petrunic, both of Prattville; and Amy Thomason of Montgomery. The two flowergirls were nieces of the groom, Faith and Hope Petrunic, both of Prattville. The best man was the groom’s father, Mike Petrunic. Groomsmen were Brent Edwards of Prattville; Dr. Glenn Glass of Daphne, Ala.; Clark Goss and Tony Hallman of Prattville; Dr. Matt Holley of Birmingham; Dr. Ashley Hollowell of Jackson, Miss.; John Pitchford of Columbia, Ala.; Daniel Price and Jamie Petrunic of Prattville; Dr. Michael Pruitt of Anniston, Ala.; and Kenny Thompson of Prattville. The two ringbearers who were friends of the groom were Gavin and Jackson Edwards, also of Prattville. The wedding party was happily aware that they were part of a special evening, as most have been lifelong friends of the bride and groom throughout their courtship. The couple honeymooned in the Riviera Maya. They now reside in Prattville.


Catherine Sanford& Walter Porter



An intimate ceremony at the Home Place, home of the bride's parents in Prattville, was the setting for the nuptials of Catherine Louise Sanford and Walter Bryan Porter on April 19 at 5 o’clock. Surrounded by family and their closest friends, the couple honored a family tradition, becoming the eighth couple in the bride’s family to be married at the Home Place. Photos of all those previous weddings were on display. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Dr. Travis Coleman Jr. officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sanford of Prattville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Porter of Eclectic, Ala. Susan Sanford Jones of Prattville, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Newton Barker of Prattville, Mary Kathryn DeRamus of Mobile and Karen Sims Johnson of Auburn. Annabeth Jones of Prattville, niece of the bride, was the flowergirl. The groom’s father was best man. Groomsmen were Timothy Micah Johnson of Auburn; William Andrew Porter of Birmingham, brother of the groom; William Hopson Sanford of Auburn, brother of the bride; and Mark Christopher Smith of Ashville, Ala. During the ceremony, Dr. Coleman read the words that the couple had secretly written about their love for each other, creating a cherished memory. On the grounds of the bride’s home, guests celebrated with the newlyweds at an outdoor reception. Upon arrival, they were serenaded by a Southern Gospel choir from the Father, Son and Holy Ghost church. The Pat Patrick Band provided the music, allowing guests to dance under the full moon and twinkling stars. Catherine and Walt were cheered and ushered away with Auburn orange and blue shakers. Aubie even made a surprise appearance, hopping out of the “get-away” car for a special farewell.

Jennifer Billingsley & Anthony Richardson



Jennifer Morgan Billingsley and Anthony Garnell Richardson were married May 24, 2008. The ceremony took place in St Jude’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. with Father James Holden administering the vows. During the service there were many moving moments. A memory candle was lit at beginning of ceremony by the bride in honor of her father. The bride was accompanied to the altar by her brotherin- law, Blake Trammer. When she started down the aisle, there was a fanfare of a saxophone and a piano, played respectively by Ron Hardy and Clifford Petty. There were two matrons of honor, both sisters of the bride, Pamela Trammer of Montgomery, and Stacey Cason of Nashville, Tenn. The maid of honor was Marsaides Martin of Los Angeles. There were three bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, and two flowergirls, all of Montgomery. The bridesmaids were Tiffany Bedgood, Adrienne Ray and Janice Richardson. The junior bridesmaids were Alexandria Trammer and Jailyn Richardson. The flowergirls were Jordan Ray of Montgomery and Ava Cason, of Nashville, Tenn. There were two best men, both of Montgomery, Rafael Richardson, brother of the groom, and DeMond Franklin. The groomsmen were Elliott Gilmore, Andre Hardy, Marcus Jones, all of Montgomery and DeAndrae Watson of Charlotte, N.C. Junior groomsman Kendrick Arrington III, of Montgomery, and ringbearer Austin Cason of Nashville, Tenn. At the opulent reception the guests had no trouble enjoying themselves. The Renaissance Hotel and Spa provided food that reached new levels of delight featuring specialties the couple had ordered, while others glided about to the music of Lisa and the Elusion. The bride and groom’s first dance as newlyweds was to “For Once in My Life” by Stevie Wonder. Both the bride’s sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and the groom’s fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, serenaded the couple toward the end of the ceremony.

Amelia Brown& Eric Walker



On a warm summer evening, the 31st of May, 2008, family and friends gathered at the First Baptist Church in Montgomery for the wedding of Amelia Elizabeth Brown and Eric Johnathan Walker. Their vows were said before the Reverend Dr. Jay Wolf. Amelia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feagin Brown of Montgomery. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruby Grace Parker and the late Mr. Thomas C. Parker. Eric is the son of Mr. John R. Walker Jr. and the late Suzette Walker of Crestview, Fla. He is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Steen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Mabel Williford. Given in holy matrimony by her father, the bride wore a strapless A-line dress with beaded embroidery designed by Allure Couture. She chose a fingertip veil with Swarovski crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, ranuculus and freesia. Katherine Parker Johnson, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Dozier Dansby and Amanda Johnson Franks, of Montgomery. The junior bridesmaid was Caroline Alexandria Hutchinson of Atlanta. There were four flowergirls, Juliette Walker, daughter of the groom, Dozier Alexandra Dansby, Parker Olivia Dansby and Emma Grace Franks. Ryan Micah Mynard, served as the best man. Groomsmen were Ernest Lee Richards of Auburn and Eric Russell Goedge. Ushers were Thomas Michael Johnson and Christopher Ryan Franks. The Wynlakes Country Club was the setting for the wonderful reception. Guests dined on assorted hand-cut canapés, seafood Louie with French tomato, smoked salmon and prime rib. Shrimp and grits were a must for the Southern crowd. After a night of dancing and fellowship, the newlyweds left for a honeymoon in St. Lucia. They now reside in Simpsonville, S.C.

Missy Birkle & Jason Wibbels



As the sun set, Melissa Maria Birkle and Jason Bernard Wibbels were united in marriage on June 26, 2008 in Destin, Florida. John Pickler officiated the beach ceremony. Family and friends traveled from 10 states-as well as Mexico- for a week of festivities at a private beachfront residence leading up to the wedding. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sylvia Bullock and Mr. James Birkle both of Jasper, Indiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Ruth Wibbels of Jasper, Indiana. Fresh dark red rose petals lined the walkway to the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless ivory and claret A-line gown by Mori Lee. The gown had beautiful embroidery and crystal beading on "Duchess Satin" with a dropped waist. Ornate embroidery cascaded down the back of the dress and encircled the hemline. The bride carried a bouquet of South American dark red roses created by Kristen Haas, cousin of the bride, and Tricia Giesler, friend of the couple. Attached to the bouquet was her late grandmother Mary Ann Ann Haas’ rosary and a locket containing pictures of grandparents Mary and Alois Haas and Lillian and Wendolyn Birkle. Braelyn Wibbels, the groom’s daughter, served as the bridesmaid. Doug Verkamp, cousin of the groom, served as the best man. Bailye Bratton, niece of the bride, and Zoey Birkle, godchild of the bride, served as flower girls. Jackson Watkins, godchild of the bride, also represented the couple. Following the ceremony, a reception took place on the beach under a large, white tent lit up by soft white lights and candles.Tables draped in white linens were decorated with silver sand pails filled with South American dark red and cream roses. An informal dinner was followed by cake. The 3 tier all white cake was beach-themed containing starfish, seahorses, shells, some made of white chocolate. Instead of the traditional throwing of the bouquet, the bride instead gave her 3 friends, Tricia Giesler, Gina Mehringer and Shelley Veazie, individual bouquets. After a honeymoon in Maui, the couple resides in Montgomery.
